1:1 Depth Work

Many people who arrive here are not new to therapy.

Some understand their attachment patterns and can name their trauma responses. They notice when the body contracts, when they dissociate, over-function, or withdraw. And yet in the moments that matter most, something old takes over. The familiar pattern continues — as an unwanted reaction, a recurring behaviour, a symptom that returns.

Insight may be present, and still the pattern holds.

The gap between knowing and living differently can become quietly painful. Not dramatic, not catastrophic — just a steady sense that something essential remains just out of reach. A sense of incompletion. Of being slightly outside your own life.

The work begins from a different understanding.

The issue was never you. It was the depth of containment available when your experience first needed to be met.

We cannot help but organise ourselves around what we have survived. Patterns formed in survival do not soften simply because they are explained — and one reason people can spend years in talk therapy without something fundamental shifting is precisely this. Patterns soften when they are met directly, steadily, in a relational field stable enough to remain with what is emerging.

How the work is held

What you bring — panic, numbness, dreams, illness, longing, confusion, moments of beauty — is approached as meaningful movement within the larger field of your life. Nothing in your experience is treated as a mistake to be corrected. Nothing is rushed past or translated according to an external interpretive frame.

What is fine and subtle is not overlooked. The body’s small shifts, recurring images, phrases that return, figures that appear in dreams and relationships — each of these is followed with care. Presence holds even with intensity.

The process is not linear. It moves in cycles — returns, deepenings, moments that first feel familiar before they feel new. As these movements are lived through together, something quieter begins to return: a felt sense of being present within experience rather than braced against it.

The dreamfield — the ongoing field of dreams, sensations, and relational signals through which experience continues to speak — is followed alongside waking life. In this shared presence, what has been obscured reveals itself layer by layer.

Sustained engagement

Nothing here is opened before steadiness has been built to hold it. For people who have previously felt overwhelmed — by therapy, by intensity, by being asked to move faster than felt safe — that history matters. The pace is yours. Continuity and trust are built before turning toward what is more difficult.

Depth work is not about going deeper faster. It is about remaining steady enough for depth to become possible.

What shifts, over time

Change in depth work is often quiet before it becomes visible.

Emotional reactions that once felt immediate and absolute begin to be noticed as they occur. Intensity can be felt without falling apart. Shame loses its grip. Boundaries can be expressed with steadiness. Relationships begin to move differently.

There is a felt sense of being in your life rather than bracing against it — not control over life, but a creative stance within it. A capacity to respond, to shape, to participate.

Pain may still arise. It no longer takes over the whole of who you are.

Grounding

The work draws on depth psychology, process-oriented and dreamfield-based traditions, and embodied awareness practice. At its core is a stance of mutual vulnerable knowing — understanding that arises between people when neither stands outside the process.

Reverence here is disciplined: a steady, precise respect for your experience, for the autonomy of the process, and for the intelligence of the psyche.
